Happy Tuesday, everyone! I’m happy to bring you today’s tidbits because it features a blogger that I have admired for some time now and I’ve been looking forward to introducing you. Cindy from Pick Fresh Foods has many enthusiastic followers so you have likely met her. She is uniquely qualified to bring us the best of healthy foods because she has a degree in Nutrition and Foods. Cindy’s site is based on eating whole foods and eating green and she doesn’t just advise us to eat certain foods, she explains why they are good for us so we can learn along the way. There is so much being discovered about healthy eating and I’m anxious to learn as much as I can! After all, the more you know, the better choices you’ll make each week at the market. This first dish has my mouth watering. Healthy, spicy, and easy to make – it’s got it all!
Mexican Quinoa Bowl from Pick Fresh Foods
Cindy suggests that this is a great comfort food while still staying healthy and I know I will be making this over and over. All those flavours dancing in your mouth from a dish that is so easy to make – yes! I love the unexpected addition of avocado to this. A simple, special recipe!
Loaded Nachos from Pick Fresh Foods
I’m convinced Cindy can read my mind because every time I think of a dish I want to cook next, it appears on her blog. I love this because she makes it super healthy in ways that I wouldn’t think of and this is no exception! I love nachos especially during game time but I usually shy away from them – not anymore! I love that she used ground turkey and look at all those flavors!
Cindy’s recipes are a real eye-opener. She creates healthy foods in a such a unique way and she is very personable with a great sense of humor. You will love your visit to her blog where you can have fun learning and creating new recipes that will leave you with that ‘clean’ feeling!
Thanks so much for sharing with us, Cindy! And the winner is…..Libby Goyt!
I know you will love this book, Libby. Please let us know which recipe you bake first!
Thanks again everyone for your support and fun comments. It’s a real thrill each day to read them and they mean so much!
Since we’re in the kitchen, I thought I’d share this link to 50 Useful Kitchen Gadgets You Didn’t Know Existed. I know what I’m getting my nephews for Christmas! They love their smores when they’re camping so I think this would be a huge hit.
Let’s go outside for awhile to check out these breathtaking gardens in The Netherlands. I like them because they are like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I find that sometimes expansive gardens like this can be done to death and seem quite artificial but these ones are so inviting! Click here to see the slideshow from Architectural Digest.
Perfect place for a romantic picnic….
This is a totally random photo that made me laugh so much! I have owned yellow labs my whole life and I can attest to the fact that they get their noses in everywhere!
But since we’re on the topic of yellow labs, I wanted to share the new addition in my nephews’ lives. My brother`s family has adopted a rescue dog and I’m in love! He’s also a yellow lab and has the sweetest, most gentle nature. He’s so laid back – and for you lab lovers, you know that’s a rarity! John and Manny are over the moon about the new addition to their family and he`s getting lots of lovin`. There are indications he`s had a difficult past so he`s happy to be living well now 🙂 How could he resist these two handsome guys?
Stay tuned for more adventures of George and the boys!
This 35 second video made me smile a mile wide. Thanks so much for visiting, everyone. Enjoy your day!

September 16, 2014 at 4:42 amOh my heart is melting right now, at 4:30AM…..GEORGE and the Boys…now this sounds like an ADVENTURE, Robyn! teeeheeeee
I love yellow labs. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems as if the three colors each have a distinct personality and tendency. Yellow labs for sure are rambunctious, black labs are more laid back and affectionate and chocolate labs have a tendency to get….ur….LARGE! I ADORE ALL OF THEM!
Those gardens, the food…you always dish up a delightful Tuesday morning for me! Hugs my friend! Anita

I think I snorted when I saw the picture of the dog’s nose! How cute is that 🙂 My grandparents had a chocolate Lab who was lovingly called ‘Abby.’ They are such precious dogs.
Congratulations to the winner! I know she will thoroughly enjoy the cookbook.
