Good Tuesday morning, everyone. Time for Tidbits and I’m so excited to bring you a little extra something today. You’ll have to keep reading to see what it’s about though. 😉
To start off we have a recipe from The View From Great Island. I’ll be featuring Sue’s beautiful blog in September but today I wanted to share her gorgeous recipe for Tomato, Onion and Roasted Lemon Salad.
I know many of you have lots and lots of tomatoes right now and what a healthy, delicious way to serve them up! These beautiful tomatoes Sue used truly make the salad special and there is fresh mint and basil to take it to a new level of perfection. The dressing has pomegranate molasses in it – such great flavour combinations!
Tomato, Onion and Roasted Lemon Salad The View from Great Island
Please remember if you`re pinning, go to her blog for the original source.
The photography is stunning and I can`t wait to explore her blog further with you next month. Thanks so much for sharing with us today, Sue!
If you`re struggling with store bought snack food vs fresh food, take a look at this site. I can almost guarantee you`ll never look at junk food the same again.
Each of these plates contain 200 calories. You`d be finished those Doritos in about 3 minutes and be hungry for more. The apple is an excellent source of dietary fiber and will keep you feeling satisfied for a long time. Let`s not forget that it can also lower blood sugar, cut cholesterol and help in preventing colon cancer. Simple choice once you know the facts!
Here`s a fun place where you can visit your favourite music that you listened to as you were growing up. The Nostalgia Machine simply asks you to put the date in of your choice and it will give you a variety of choices of music that were popular in that year. I loved this and was surprised at how many songs I had forgotten about that I once listened to for hours and hours. The song below is timeless and I think it found a place of popularity in every decade since it debuted in 1973.
Thinking of redecorating your kids’ rooms? Here are some amazing fairy tale rooms from Colors and Joy that would blow their minds! And to think that all I dreamed about as a child was having a canopy bed! If you are also looking for something to pull the room together, you might be interested in checking somewhere like bazaarvelvet.com for some ideas. Redecorating can be so much fun, but it can be expensive, especially if you are looking at changing the style of your home. Some people find that antique furniture gives their homes a sense of contemporary style and history that can be passed down to their children. One of my friends has recently been completing some renovation work on her home and has had to take out a loan to cover the costs. Before taking out the loan she did some research online and found that although there are lots of different types of loans, a logbook loan should be considered as a last resort. It’s always important to weigh up all your different options when borrowing money!
It seems I can’t help myself from including something about animals each week so you can just assume that they will be a weekly feature, lol. This image caught my attention and I just had to share it.
The Wonderous has a list of 17 Reasons These People Deserve A Gold Medal for Their Love of Animals. I know you’ll agree when you see how far people will go to aid animals who are in need of our help.
And now for my surprise! I am having my first GIVEAWAY next month! This is my way of trying to thank all of my friends and readers for their comments and support over the years. You have all been so loyal and I appreciate that more than words can say. Your kind words keep me motivated and make me work harder to deliver content that is fun for you.
Debbie Adler of Sweet Debbie’s Organic Cupcakes has recently published a book of healthy treats! I’m thrilled to be able to give away one of her books and will be announcing all the details after the Labour Day weekend. In the meantime, you can check out her website here to see what she’s all about. Some of you may already know Debbie. She’s based in Los Angeles and ships all over the U.S. I’ll be sending out an email as a reminder so that you don’t miss out 🙂
And you know I like to send you on your way with a smile and this will definitely do it. Here are 30 Magical Photos of Children Playing Around The World.
I absolutely fell in love with each one of these images. Seeing the joy and laughter on children’s faces is the very best thing!
It’s heartwarming to see the children from all over finding fun together. I know you’ll love this too!
Click here or on any of the images for more reasons to brighten your day. Cheers, everyone!

August 19, 2014 at 5:31 amIs it Tuesday already? There’s no better way to start my Tuesday morning than to come here and find what you’ve got to share! I know that it will always be colorful and happy! My dear Robyn, the colors of summer still live on here, as I spend this entire week in school meetings preparing for the first day of school NEXT Monday. I can’t believe another lovely summer has gone by.
Those images of the kids; what a joy it is to see people from all over the world enjoying themselves. We hear of wars and they are very much real. But once in a while, it’s a great reminder to know that joy and play can be found in every corner of the world.
WISHING YOU a fantastic Tuesday dear, dear Robyn! Anita

August 19, 2014 at 3:06 pmOMG I am ENVIOUS of those bed rooms!!!!!! If only I had a cool horse/barn like bedroom when I was younger, I WOULD NEVER SLEEP! Oh wait, that’s PROBABLY WHY I DIDN’T HAVE SUCH A THEMED room, I would always be rambuncious and annoying – Or… My parents just worked so hard they didn’t have time to design a cool room for me! LOL!

August 19, 2014 at 10:32 pmRobyn I love the Nostalgia Machine! What a cool find! I got so excited scrolling through all the songs from when I was 10 years old…singing some, and proclaiming to my husband, “Oh my God! Do you remember this one?!” And of course he had no idea what I was talking about since he grew up in Sweden…
