Canadian Beer Cheese Dip is the kind of snack that you want to include in every event. Whether it’s watching hockey playoffs, entertaining on the back deck this summer or picnicking, this will be popular with everyone.
Canadians love their beer, bacon and cheese so this seemed like a natural fit for our current obsession with watching hockey as we near the end of the playoffs. Of course, any kind of beer can be used in this dip but we all know Canadian beer rocks, right? Did you know that more Canadians drink more beer than milk? ha! That accounts for the fact that we are a very happy nation.
And you just know that I’m going to jump on every opportunity to use my Vitamix. Keeping it simple and flavourful is my MO so this has only a few ingredients with a super delicious taste.
Depending on your love of cheese, you’ll want to decide on aged, medium or mild. I used one block of aged and one of mild and it was super cheesy but if you’ve got guests coming, you might want to stick with medium and mild.
No matter how many times I use my Vitamix, I love looking at the vortex that these magical spinning blades create. I’m mesmerized by how quickly and easily this all comes together. Best of all, this new model in the Ascent series has a self cleaning mode. Add some water and dish soap, turn it on and let it clean for you.
The best part of a Canadian Beer Cheese Dip is that you have some leftover beer that requires drinking. If only all recipes were like this! You could invite the girls over and have a dip making party. Hmmm, I’m going to have to think up some more beer dips – this could become a regular event!
If you want to indulge, mix the bacon into the entire dip but I kept it to a topping only. If you’re wanting to stick to strictly healthy, serve with veggies. I did both cos I believe that occasionally a little bit of bread dipped in cheese is something that just can’t be missed.
You can do this a day ahead and reheat it on game day too. Let’s keep things simple – life can be complicated and sometimes we just need beer, cheese, bacon and hockey!
I love teaming up with my talented blogger friends in Canada and this time creating Vitamix snacks for some serious hockey watching was so much fun! We’re only a few games from the ultimate winner. Who are you cheering for?! Check out these awesome snacks for the final games!

June 4, 2017 at 11:24 amRobyn, I know we’ve talked about the magic that is Vitamix but dang woman – this concoction of beer, cheese, bacon and hockey is downright unicorn-kind-of-magic. That’s the BEST kind of magic. I want this in my mouth right now. I like the idea of drinking the leftovers – is it too early for that? It could be. Either way, this is getting made today. At some point. You’re right – life can be complicated; let’s keep it simple. Beer, cheese, bacon and hockey! I love it.
