Healthy Hallowe’en Treats

Spooky Spider Eggs

The kids are going to be filling their bags with candy tonight and that’s ok.  I’m all for healthy eating but the kids look forward to this night and as long as they don’t eat it all in one night, it’s not really such a bad thing.

One strategy that you can use is to give the kids a couple of these eggs before they head out tonight. The protein will fill them up and they won’t feel like stuffing themselves with sugar when they get home.  This will make it easier to dole it out slowly tonight without too much opposition.

Make the devilled eggs and use black olives to make the spiders.  Cut the olive lengthwise and use one half for the body, slicing the other half crosswise into thin slices for the creepy legs.

Love these and love the idea of them eating before trick or treating! Good for the parents for trick or treating stamina too. 🙂

Oh, I hadn’t thought of the parents, Barbara. They definitely need the boost for all the running around and maybe it will deter them from dipping their hands into the kids’ bags!
      Thanks for your visit.
