Welcome to Tuesday Tidbits! I hope everyone is having a good start to their week. It seems we are truly in the Fall season now. I have to say that as much as I left Summer kicking and screaming, I truly do love this time of year. The colours, the crisp air – it’s beautiful. And the comfort food! I’m getting into that in a big way now and looking forward to bringing you some new healthy versions of traditional favourites as well as some international cuisine.
Today I’m excited to introduce you to Margaret from Natural Chow. I stumbled across Margaret’s blog just a few weeks ago for the first time and ever since then we seem to be meeting each other all over the place. Her dishes are frequently featured at link parties and you will see why! Margaret does it all on her blog – recipes, tips on healthy living and gardening and menu plans. It’s been my experience that menu planning is key to eating healthy and saving money. It also takes time and patience so pop over to Margaret’s blog and let her help you with it. I love that she incorporates her healthy philosophy into all of her life by living green, using essential oils and spending lots of time with family. All keys to a happy, healthy life. Margaret creates gorgeous dishes with fabulous flavours and I am so taken with her beautiful selection of desserts. I didn’t have a sweet tooth growing up but I sure seemed to have developed one now. Thank goodness for bloggers who have the same! Check out this perfect whole wheat blackberry cobbler.
Perfect Whole Wheat Blackberry Cobbler Natural Chow
Can you believe this dessert is only 5 ingredients? Such lovely flavours with the sweet cake and scrumptious berries.
I’ve never thought to mix avocado with chocolate but Margaret tells us that it brings out even more richness of the chocolate. I’m sold! With the right ingredients, this creative cook shows us how we can indulge without the guilt.
There is so much to learn at Natural Chow so please pop over for a visit. I know I will be a regular visitor and I`ll be looking forward to bumping into Margaret all over blogland. Thanks so much for sharing with us today, Margaret – it`s been a real treat!
Since we`re in the kitchen, I thought I`d share a couple pics of my dream house. I came across these pics in a Architectural Digest slideshow of a home in Baton Rouge and I fell in love. Usually when I see photos of a home there is always something I would change to make it my own. Not this one – this is perfection. Doesn`t hurt that it`s right on the water, too! What do you think?
Some of the furniture is a little too stuffy for my taste but those windows and the natural light – *swoons*
And this kitchen – so cozy and welcoming. I may have to move to Louisiana!
Summer may be over but I just loved this cool invention from LifeBuzz. I`m not sure how you`d move it around and you might be at the mercy of the currents, but it sure looks like fun.
There are loads of the latest inventions at this site and you`ll be amazed at what they`re coming up with. Below is an ingenious idea. Does your partner have to get up at odd hours? Here`s a simple solution that will allow you to keep sleeping while he gets ready for work.
Couples alarm clock. Put the ring on your finger and it wakes you by vibrating and not your partner.
Have you ever found yourself in an environment that suddenly makes you realize how tiny we are in the face of our planet’s geography? Here are some amazing images that will make you appreciate just how small we really are – these will WOW you!
Trolltunga (AKA: Troll’s Tongue), Norway
The tiny human walks down the shallow snowy walkway through what seems to be an endless line of tall evergreens.
I loved this site that captures Etheral Macro Photos of Snowflakes in the Moments Before They Disappear. Famous Russian photographer Andrew Osokin has a collection of winter photos as well as flowers and insects that can’t be missed. Beautiful!
And this just cracks me up…..
If you’re a dog lover, you’ll love this 36 second video. So fun!
I hope you enjoyed today’s tidbits. If you’re a pasta lover, pop back here on Thursday for some spinach manicotti that is simply delicious! Have a great day, everyone.

September 23, 2014 at 5:03 amOh my goodness Robyn,
THAT WAS FUN!!!!!! Watching Walter run right into the water was the cherry on the cake – like you, I didn’t want to let go of summer, and this last video was a great way to express that enthusiasm for summer play….tteehehheeeeeeee
THAT HO– USE…the kitchen is what really attracts me, and I do agree the furniture is a bit too formal and stiff for me, but the windows and light are a great feature. I really do need to try making avocado brownies because I’ve seen a similar recipe but have not had a chance to try it yet.
Well my friend, that was SO FUN! Enjoy your day, Anita

I’ve got to try those brownies, too! Margaret’s blog is so awesome.

Margaret, over at the natural chow has a delicious looking blog. I followed her and I look forward to some wonderful recipes.
You had much to enjoy here tonight.
The photo of the winter trees is just amazing!! We certainly are small in this universe, Gods creation.
I am with you on the windows of your dream home. Wow wow!!
Now that alarm… I would love that as I dislike the sound of an alarm.
Have a blessed week, Dear Robyn.
Joy! Debbie

September 24, 2014 at 6:06 amOh, you`ll love exploring her blog, Debbie! I am waiting on you to start posting some of your dishes because I just know you are a fabulous cook!
So glad you enjoyed your visit. I loved those trees as well – just magnificent.
I don`t like the alarm either. In fact, all my life I have woken up precisely 2 minutes before my alarm goes off – no matter what time it is set for. Something inside of me refuses to hear that horrible noise, lol.
Take good care, Debbie. xoxo

September 24, 2014 at 10:18 pmWhat a wonderful post, Robyn! The blackberry cobbler looks delicious and I’m going to pop over and visit natural chow. It sounds like she has some delicious recipes.
I also really enjoyed the photos. Loved the all the windows in the house. I’m a fan of lots of windows and light in a house – just wish I didn’t have to clean them. 🙂 I think my favorite picture is the one from the Czech Republic. I was there a few years ago on a mission trip and it really is a beautiful country. There’s something about the photo you posted that makes it look like it’s in another world – so peaceful and beautiful. Hope you have a great rest of the week.

Beautiful pictures to make us think our large our planet is. Gotta love that bear…. Lots of love from WW.
