Happy Tidbits day, everyone! This past weekend was the perfect autumn weekend and I hope you’re enjoying the warm weather and beautiful colours where you are, too.
I’m so excited to introduce you to Sue, a very popular blogger from The View from Great Island. When I read her bio I knew I had found a kindred spirit. Sue is all about keeping it real and minimal fuss with food. I featured her gorgeous Tomato, Onion and Roasted Lemon Salad during the summer and promised you more. Sue’s creations know no boundaries and, though she teeters on being a vegetarian, she also craves the occasional meatball, as you will see below. I’m right there with you, Sue – those meatballs are irresistible!
Moroccan Lemon and Cardamom Meatballs from The View from Great Island
After many cross-country moves with her family to accommodate work demands, Sue takes inspiration from her different locations. From New Hampshire (hence, the blog title) to the culturally diverse Los Angeles, the delectable dishes reflect her enthusiasm and passion for healthy eating and ensuring that each and every bite is packed full of fresh flavour.
In the ambrosial, heavenly dish above, Sue gives us great tips to ensure the meatballs retain their moisture and flavour while sharing info about Moroccan cuisine. Isn’t your mouth just watering as you look at those scrumptious meatballs? You know I’m all about exploring international dishes so I’m all over this! Sue’s blog is giving me so much incentive to dig for those recipes that will bring real excitement to our kitchens!
Simple Greek Style Baked Fish from The View from Great Island
Sue says she could eat a dish like this every night and I completely agree. It’s simple, fresh, quick, easy – all the reasons why we need to be cooking real foods in our home. This will taste better than any dish you can buy in a restaurant and it will cost you a fraction of the price. It doesn’t get any better!
You’ll learn a lot about flavours, cooking, fresh herbs and international cuisine when you visit Sue’s blog and I guarantee you’ll be popping in to visit again and again. Her photography is stunning and the dishes just leap from the page. Thanks so much for sharing with us today, Sue. It was such a pleasure!
After those mouth-watering views of food, how about some luxurious rooms with breathtaking views of the water and mountains?

It would be pretty hard to leave a place like this!
And for this one, I have no words!

If you consider yourself to be somewhat of a wordsmith or you’re just wanting to expand your vocabulary, here is a list of 100 Most Beautiful Words in the English Language. It’s fun to go through to discover how many you know and learn some new ones too. When I think of beautiful languages, I think of the lyrical ones like Italian and Spanish but after reading this list, I tend to think that English is pretty cool, too.

So I want to know how you keep your vehicle upright on this road, lol!
I was truly laughing out loud when I watched this video. A couple are telling their three young boys that they have twins on the way and the kids’ reactions are hilarious!
And I couldn’t resist this adorable pic…
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day, everyone!

September 30, 2014 at 4:49 amMmm, those meatballs look delicious! And as far as that last room with the full-on mountain view…that is really drool-worthy. I am a mountain person and always will be. I love your Tuesday Tidbits!

September 30, 2014 at 6:36 amI have been craving those meatballs since I first saw them, Traci! I’m not going to rest till I make them, lol.
Being from BC, I am both a mountain and a sea person but will admit that the former most often takes my breath away.
So glad you enjoy your Tuesday visits here!

September 30, 2014 at 5:49 amWOWSERS! Those boys are HILARIOUS! Oh Robyn, everything about this post is perfect from the food, the list of 100 beautiful words (I snatched it) but that video was so funny. No one could have rehearsed that and made it any better. The little guy on the left was all smiles, the wild one next to him was outrageously cute and scrappy (the way I like my little boys!) and the guy in the back….wow, he’s got a run for his money! This was just what I needed to get through the day. THANK YOU!

September 30, 2014 at 6:41 amLOL, I’m still laughing about those boys, Anita, and I agree, each one of them is so funny in their own way. My favourite line is ‘Twins?!! Two more things like Kaden!!” . hahaha! And there’s little Kaden sitting wth an angelic smile on his face!
I am so taken with Sue’s blog and I know you will love her food, too. She creates magic!

September 30, 2014 at 8:23 amThose meatballs look delicious. And I love the photos of the mountains – reminds me of Montana and the breathtaking views there. Not sure that I would try the road on that one in South Africa. Looks like you’d do somersaults down instead of driving up the road. 🙂 Thanks for a nice start to the day. I always enjoy coming here on Tuesdays. Have a great week!

October 1, 2014 at 10:43 amI haven’t been to Montana, Marie, but the pictures I’ve seen are truly stunning. I can’t figure out that road either, lol. I figure you’d have to keep up the same speed otherwise you’d go tumbling down for sure!
Thanks for visiting 🙂

September 30, 2014 at 11:02 amThose are so pretty scary drives. I always feel so nervous driving on the edge of a mountain. That may or may not have something to do with the fact that my husband thinks he is a race car driver and wants to fly around the turns. haha

September 30, 2014 at 5:42 pmRobyn,
I so look forward to your Tuesday Tidbits, just delightful!
That video was precious! The older son was quite emotional, bless his dear heart.
You have blessed us with another wonderful cook, thank you!
I have been so busy this summer with my parents and their needs that my kitchen has been calling me.
Yesterday I was able to enjoy making a delicious meal on a rainy cool day with the fire going. I was blessed just to be home, relax and enjoy being in my favorite part of the house. It really has been a long busy summer.
That first home with its view was absolutely breath taking. Wouldn’t that be the life?!
Happy Autumn to you!
Joy! Debbie

October 1, 2014 at 10:51 amLOL, I think it was the oldest boy who had me laughing the most, Debbie. I like the father. Even though we couldn’t see him, he sounded like a very cool guy.
So glad to hear you’re having some time to cook! I thought of you when I was writing this post because I know Sue’s recipes are right up your alley.
I loved the first home but I’d feel like I’d be cleaning it all the time, lol. Have a daffy day, dear friend. xoxo
