Tuesday Tidbits

Happy Tidbits Day, everyone! I hope your week is off to a good start and your visit here only makes it better.

I am so excited to introduce you to our featured blogger this week because I’m in love with her gorgeous site! Izzy from She Likes Food is as talented behind the lens of a camera as she is in the kitchen. Many of her dishes are vegan and gluten free and Izzy likes to experiment with everything so you will see a diverse choice of recipes with fresh, whole foods – what more could you ask for?! Her healthy, colorful dishes are so tasty and tempting and I know you’ll love them, too.

Not only does she make healthy dishes, she takes traditionally calorie-laden recipes and converts them to a guilt-free, nutritious meal that your kids can gobble up with healthy benefits. How about this Butternut Squash Mac & *Cheese*? Not cheese at all but you’d never guess that from looking at it and I just know it must be delicious. I can’t wait to try it!

This next dish is great when you’re cooking for one but of course can be used for the whole family, too. I love this quick and easy pasta recipe that delivers all the flavor without the time and work. Izzy is so creative with her use of ingredients and this is versatile enough for you to add your own favorites as well.

Izzy’s photography is so gorgeous!

If you’re working on introducing your kids to the kitchen, this is a great meal in which they can get involved. So many yummy veggies, herbs and spices that it is certain to become a favorite. I wish I knew how to cook like this when I went off to university. I was afraid of the stove! You’ll love She Likes Food. The images are stunning, the recipes delicious and nutritious and Izzy creates a warm, welcoming site that makes you feel as though you are in her kitchen so that you’ll want to return time and time again. I am hooked. Thanks so much for sharing today, Izzy, such a pleasure! BorderUntitled

Recently, there have been many studies released on the health benefits of coconuts. This fruit can boost your immune system, helps control blood sugar levels and is full of calcium, potassium and magnesium. Here are 12 recipes from Mother Nature Network that will allow you to incorporate this powerhouse food into your diet.

BorderUntitled life-easier-clever-inventions-a-19

These Clever Inventions To Make Your Life Easier is a site full of all kinds of ideas that will make you ask, “Hey, why didn’t I think of that?” Don’t you love that you can do two things in one pan? This is perfect for me because I am a disaster when it comes to frying eggs. I can never get them to look that good.

And this is genius! No more digging around in the dark with a flashlight to find your socks and shoes. Although if you’re a deep woods camper, I’m thinking that this would just help the bears or dangerous wildlife find you! Check out this link to see more very clever inventions.BorderUntitled

Old-water-mill

I had to include this photo because it just blew me away! I could easily spend the day in just this one spot! There are so many gorgeous things to photograph. I know many of you are great photographers and whether it’s professional or a hobby, it’s exciting to see just how far we can take our creativity with the help of today’s technology. Here’s a site that lists 100 Tips from Professional Photographers. Interesting reading. BorderUntitled

Amongst many of my food blogger friends, we often joke about taking road trips to visit one another so we can taste our different foods and I definitely think a visit to Aida’s house from The Crafting Foodie is in order. I want to watch her decorate! She’s a cookie genius! Take a look at her latest work of art.

And if you ARE going on a roadtrip, here’s a site that lists 150 Best Songs To Sing Along To. I love this list because it has songs for everyone – Tunes about Travelin’, 90’s Nostalgia, Beats with a Bounce, Rollin’ Retro, Theme Songs and many more. Do you rock in the car while you drive? Do you hit those high notes into your fake microphone? Have you ever been caught pretending to be a rockstar as you drive?! I have to confess a big YES to all 3, and I’m not the least bit ashamed to admit it, ha! This is one of my all time favorites. If you’re hitting the road with the family and you have little kids, they are going to want a selection of kids’ learning songs (KLS) to sing along with too. It’s only fair!

And it doesn’t matter what kind of mood you’re in, I think it’s safe to bet that this will put a smile on your face. Have a great day, everyone!

Thanks for introducing us to Isadora, her recipes and photography are just beautiful. The changing leaves and autumn photo is prettier than a post card. Are the leaves changing in Canada? No such luck here in HK. However, finally it is not 90 degrees anymore and there is even a little breeze. Have a super weekend and thanks for the fun Tuesday Tidbit post.
