Tuesday Tidbits (No. 35)

Good morning, everyone. It looks like summer is officially here and with that, we’ve got strawberries ready to be picked! It’s a big deal around here because the berries are so delicious and finding new ways to cook them is so much fun.

Yesterday I posted a Balsamic Chicken with Strawberries, Basil and Feta Cheese and it’s gone off the charts and has become the most popular recipe I’ve ever posted. I think people like it because it’s super simple yet so tasty. I love cooking proteins with fruit in the summer months. If you do the same, share your recipe and I’ll be happy to cook it or share your pictures!

Let’s get started with some links to some fabulous strawberry recipes. In this part of the world, we only get them for a short time so let’s find the best ways to use them.

And one more article on saving money from Tip Hero. They’ve got a list of 17 Healthy Food For Under $1. This is worth a read and a bookmark. Don’t you find that in our busy lives it’s so tempting to go for the fast food, the easy junk food when we’re short of time. Keep these healthy foods in mind and it’ll make things a little easier.

Are you the one who tends to the grill in your house or do you leave that job to your partner? Most women I know are a little afraid of the BBQ. (except my friend, Linda, who is fearless!) I was a little nervous until a few years ago when I decided I needed to conquer that monster. Here’s a great list of The Most Common Grilling Mistakes – and How To Avoid Them. Very helpful! Have you mastered the grill yet?

I’m a sucker for a beautiful farmhouse sink like these Annie & Oak Farmhouse sinks – what about you? I love the size, the depth and the character that it adds to a kitchen. Here are 3 of my favourite from AD. Click on the pics or text to take you to the slideshow.

And it seems that some people are downsizing these days with their homes but this is a little over the top. Ok…a LOT over the top! What do you think? Could you live in a space this small? It’s so dreamy that I think I could find a way to make it work….

And we go from tiny to translucent. Could you live in this house? I am fascinated with homes with lots of glass but this might be too much. This house is perched on a cliffside with tons and tons of green space around it. It seems like perfection.

With Summer finally here, you’ll want to check in again on my favorite online magazine for Families. This will give you loads of ideas for outdoor activities to keep you and your family fit as well as ideas for travel and how to create lasting memories for your children.

Congratulations to my friend, Jennifer and her talented crew on their 6 month anniversary. Love it and wishing you much continued success!

And to send you on your way with a smile (or you can hang around too if you want to!), here’s some pics that made me chuckle. The title of the article is Just Some Bears Thinking About Life. Click the link or any of the pics for more hilarity. Cheers!

Hahaha! I love that, Anita – men in a bear suit. Too true!!
So glad you enjoyed today’s tidbits. I roasted strawberries last summer for the first time and they are a special treat. Even sweeter!
Wouldn’t we all love an ocean in our backyard? I had one out west and here I have a little lake…which is very nice, too 🙂

Hi Robyn, another great Tuesdays tidbits, love the bears, their expressions and mannerisms look human-like, but maybe they say that about us. Anyway I don’t know if I could live in a space that small but I know I could not live in a completely translucent house. Take care!! Cheri

LOL, Cheri, living in an all glass house would definitely be a different kind of lifestyle. I’m sure we’re a very confusing species to the bears! So glad you enjoyed today’s post.

This is always my favorite post of the week from anyone. I learn so much and get in some laughs. The video was so much fun. I am finally on instagram and found you and Anita. Instagram is hard for me since it won’t accept any pics but from your phone. What a hassle.

Thanks for a another very fun Tuesday Tidbits! Oh my goodness wouldn’t it be dreamy to have a farm kitchen like that so big and airy and check out all of that natural light… LOL something us foodies notice… Thanks so much for including our Skinny Berry Cheesecake Bars and I can’t wait to try out the other recipes here as well. Our family adored your Strawberry balsamic chicken recipe, big hit! The boys were kind of uncertain at first, when I served it to them, as you know how teenagers can be. Mom, really chicken and strawberries? ! However, after one taste they were like yeah chicken and strawberries! Yum! I hope the bears are only this comical in Alaska… July 5th my boy heads off for 30 days outdoor adventure. Sharing, of course!

The strawberries kill me! We don’t really get good strawberries here. Expensive ones, yes. Expensive sour ones, that is. I am usually back in Oregon for the summer and get to enjoy– but not this year! At home in Malaysia waiting for little guy to come– 6 weeks now, crazy huh??

Loving the houses you posted– the tiny dream house I could do, but all glass? Heat! I’d love it on more mild days, but imagine what it would feel like when it got to be 90+??
