Tuesday Tidbits

It’s been ages since I did a tidbits post. In fact, I haven’t written one since I moved to my new home here at WordPress! I’ve been super busy sorting out our belongings and contents insurance. Luckily I found a few sites that helped me along my way, iSelect as an example. Now we’ve settled in, I’ve decided to make it a weekly feature where I will include my favorite blogs, health information, funny stuff and whatever I come across that I think you may enjoy.

How many women do you meet who are smart, funny, astute AND beautiful? Gigi is all that and each time I visit her blog, I learn a little something, I laugh a whole lot and I come away reinvigorated about blogging because she is so enthusiastic and so dead on with every topic she brings to us.

Her goal is to make the topic of health and nutrition lighthearted and fun and she succeeds at every level. Her videos are a great way to start the day because she will have you laughing even if you are a Grumpy Gus in the mornings! Ha! I think I may have a girl crush!

How to Preserve Herbs

We all know that a dish will go from ho-hum to fabulous with the addition of fresh herbs but trying to keep them fresh is not always easy.

I just bought a fancy herb saver at the market and once I got it out of all it’s packaging, I discovered that it was nothing more than a plastic, cylindrical tube you use for pasta that you can buy at the dollar store! It’s going back tomorrow!

Eatwell.com has a great article on options from freezing, preserving and making compound butters to name a few. I notice a lot of bloggers making compound butters these days. I guess that should be next on my list.

Who among us isn’t intimidated by those fantastically decorated cupcakes and beautiful pies that you see displayed all over Pinterest. This is a hilarious look at folks trying to replicate some of the crafts, photography, cooking and baking at home. Love it!

Interior Stone Walls

I love interior design blogs and I particularly adore interior stone walls. I think they give a room a warm feeling, interesting texture and a unique quality that is not found in your everyday home. Up Close and Personal with Orcas

This is a great video of some kayakers off the coast of Vancouver Island, BC and their encounter with a pod of orca whales. The whales became very curious and turned the tables on them, coming in for a good look at them. They were both thrilled and terrified at times.
